Art Basel Returns to Miami Beach for its 18th Year

Since the inaugural event in 2002, Art Basel Miami Beach has been showcasing artwork from all across the globe. This year the internationally renown event will be featuring more than 250 contemporary artists in a variety of mediums. Here’s why you should be joining the Art Basel Miami Beach 2019 from December 5th-8th.

Show Draws Large Crowds

Over the years, Art Basel Miami Beach has always brought out a large crowd of attendees, including celebrities!  The four-day fest will take place in the Miami Beach Convention Center with about 700,000 visitors.

The event has proven popular over the years because it essentially offers something for everyone. No matter where your aesthetic lies, the Art Basel will impress. The fair continuously offers stunning mediums in:

This is all on top of installations done by more than 4,000 artists!

What’s Distinct About Miami Beach

Here’s a fun fact about Art Basel: organizers only hold three festivals across the globe annually—with two other festivals taking place in Hong Kong and Switzerland. Therefore, Miami Beach is distinctly the only city within the U.S.—or, for that matter, North America—to host this world renown art festival.

According to organizers, this year’s Art Basel Miami Beach is expected to offer a number of exciting features. This includes an opportunity to meet directly with the gallerists behind the different works. As such, visitors to last year’s Art Basel Miami Beach had the opportunity to meet with gallerists in such disparate locales as Brazil, France and South Africa.
